European Commission: an EU regulation is immediately needed on the game

Many times have been confronted with the declarations issued by the European Commission in relation to the regulation of gambling and gods Online gaming sites: European Commission that has always been entrenched the principle of leaving each Member State the faculty to regulate the world of games according to what was considered most appropriate. And we know how it ended up in our country and, above all, what damage they descended from that measure designed and put in place with an improbable speed but, certainly, ban on which it has not reflected.

So much so that today it is requested from several parties, even from politics, a small step back or also a review of the content of this Dignity decree which, as regards the total prohibition of advertising, appears a little prohibitionist. Therefore, at this point after the experiences acquired by the pandemic emergency, after the flourishing almost everywhere in Europe of illegality in the game and after the explosion of the online gambling In all its segments, perhaps it would be the case that at European level a sort of European regulation was born to manage everything uniformly for all Member States and to make sure that they do not continue to rain "appeals" to the European Commission asking to express an opinion relating to the various questions that are subjected to that location. In short, it can be said that from a regulatory point of view Europe would need a community expression for all states that place gambling frequented in the different territorial realities, and with all respect for their respective rules, on the same level both as regards operators and for players who must always be super-helpful.

It is quite clear that in recent years the gambling has definitely "taken flight" in several European countries, including USA which in 2021 counted a growth of 7.5% of revenues from the world of game: such Evolution, in addition to being positive for the economy of the different realities, must however be evaluated negatively for a possible growth of gambling disorder and for the rebirth of the illegal game. Phenomenon that has not only touched our country, unfortunately, and the concern that all this has aroused seems to be almost a must. The restrictions that some member countries of the Union have put in place to limit the growth of this raising of the use of the game, limiting the meaning of these "thoughts", limiting in particular the Online betting, but also offline: restrictions born to protect citizens, but also to go into clear contrast to organized crime which unfortunately, as often repeated by the writer, has always managed more than well and with extreme wit in the game in history illegal gambling.

However, it can be emphasized that the most total and prohibition restrictions without any doubt has put our country in place, which was however followed by other realities such as France, Spain and USA who have adopted more or less the same line. However, despite this "regulatory handling" and despite being increasingly the countries that have started to adopt prohibition rules for advertising, at this moment we still do not hear from possible community laws: which would probably be "well accepted and shared "Although there is no certainty of this and also because it must be realized that the European Parliament has recognized the current regulations adopted in each individual country. But obviously the rules envisaged by the Treaties of the European Union have been respected.

And here, then, we return to 2014, which is definitely far for a sector like the game that travels at the speed of light, with the already remembered recommendations on the protection of minors and the protection of online gamblers. However, as already mentioned, they are "only recommendations" and they remain: And they may also not be followed as, however, made by our country with the already mentioned Dignity decree and the ban on advertising to the games, to poker online and to the bets that that provision contains. Perhaps, today with the evolution of gambling in recent times, there is a lack of precise laws dictated by the European Commission otherwise the management of the laws by the various European countries is increasingly difficult. Even and above all because establishing the boundaries of the world of the Internet is practically impossible and in particular because access to illegal sites, especially those relating to betting and casino games, are accessible simply with a click and are represented by "winking and engaging offers ". And it is undoubtedly for this reason that you think, indeed you hope so that it is believed to be essential, that soon an intervention by the European Commission can happen that puts "all things in place".
